How can I track my lost android mobile: 2 simple ways

Share this note with your friends.

If you’re here, you’ve either already lost your Android mobile and are not able to track it or are concerned about what will happen if you do. If you lose or steal your phone, it’s not the end of the world since you can still locate it using Android’s “Find My Device” function.

Find My Device Feature: Track your Android

There are a few things you can do to prepare yourself for the inevitable. Making sure your smartphone is on when you lose it may be difficult to account for. There are, however, a few things you can do to the best of your abilities to find it:

Make sure your phone has a full battery when you go out. If you can’t charge your phone enough before you leave, you might want to get a portable charger.

Find My Device should be turned on by default, but you can double-check by going to Settings. Enabling location services should be on your list as well. Without leaving the settings, navigate to Locations. You should have a similar option to turn the service on and off.

Installing the Find My Device app on every device you own can save you time in an emergency. This will help you track your Android in no time.

The advantage of Android’s “Find My Device” function is that it does not need human configuration. When you log in to your Google account when setting up your Android phone, it is activated immediately. So, if you lose your smartphone, you may use any other device to log into your Google account and track your stolen or lost phone.

You can find where your phone is right now if it is still on and has location services turned on. You’ll only be able to view its most recent known position. This also means you won’t be able to find it if the location service was off or it wasn’t connected to the internet when it went missing. Yes, there are some drawbacks to using this tool to locate your phone, but it’s worth a try.

Here’s how you can locate it using the Find My Device feature:

  • Log in to your Google account and navigate to https://www.google.com/android/find/. This portal is accessible from any computer.
  • When you first log in, you’ll get a list of all the devices that are still associated with your Google account.
  • Select the one you’re looking for to determine whether the service can monitor your phone’s current position.
  • If it fits all of the prerequisites, you’ll now see your phone’s current position on the map next to the list, as seen in the picture above.
  • You can even zoom in to see your phone’s precise position.

If the phone is no longer turned on or has lost its internet connection, the service will only display its last known position. If it is still active, you will see three options: “Play Sound,” “Secure Device,” and “Erase Device.”

The first option will make a sound to help you find it or to let other people know it’s there.

If your smartphone is in silent or “Do Not Disturb” mode, the sound will be played.

If you choose “Secure Device,” it will be locked, and anyone who finds it will see your message or phone number.

Lastly, you can use the “Erase Device” option to wipe the device clean of all data. After you wipe the phone, you won’t be able to find it again, so keep that in mind.

How to Find a Lost Phone Using the IMEI Number

Did you know you can use your Android phone’s IMEI number to find it? For the IMEI tracker, the IMEI number is the unique identifying number for each mobile phone. If your phone is without a SIM card, GPS position, or Internet connectivity, it may seem that everything is lost when your phone goes missing. However, the IMEI number is here to help!

The IMEI number is similar to an identification certificate for your phone, but it may also be very useful in tracking down a missing mobile phone. Network operators use IMEI Tracker to find a mobile phone on the network and improve its services by giving it a unique number. The smartphone’s IMEI number may be located on the back of the device, either below the battery or on the back panel. Furthermore, the IMEI number is often used to monitor a phone even after the SIM card has been replaced.

The phone monitoring project has been in the works for some time, and it was created with the express purpose of curbing theft and the counterfeit mobile phone trade.

You will not be able to track your android per se but atleast your phone will not be used for commitment of any malicious crimes.

Steps to follow:

Step 1: The first step is to report the lost or stolen phone to the police.

Step 2: Next, call your service provider to obtain a duplicate SIM card. When you request that the IMEI number be blocked, you will get an OTP for this number. This won’t help you find your phone, but if someone finds it, they won’t be able to use it.

Step 3: Visit the portal here to block the IMEI and attach the required documents. You will need a copy of the police report, identity proof, a purchase invoice, and other details.

Step 4: An OTP will be sent to the phone number you provided. This must be the same number that was active on the phone when it was lost.

Step 5: You will be given a request ID. If you need to, you can check the requestor’s progress later to unlock the IMEI.
