How to save smartphone from overheating?

Share this note with your friends.

All technology is prone to malfunction occasionally including your mobile phone. And these days, overheating seems to be a common problem with smartphones. But not many people know what to do about it. So here are a few simple but effective ways to save your smartphone from overheating. You’ll be able to feel the difference yourself.

But first, why is it important to save your smartphone from overheating?

Well, apart from the fact that smartphones get tough to hold, overheating may also cause some damage to the handset. A few problems that may occur with your smartphone are reduced performance, drainage of battery, shortening the device’s lifespan, etc. Some people choose to bear the difficulties and not use their phones. But you can easily omit these by using these few simple ways. It is not that hard to keep your device cool.

1. Close Background Apps:

This may not come to our notice easily because the number of apps running in the background is something that we tend to ignore. These unused apps running in the background cause the phone to work hard, thus putting a strain on and heating the hardware. It is recommended to close the apps that you’re not using and restrict auto-start if your device allows such controls. If you don’t maintain this, the apps will continue to run in the background and the device will heat up.

2. Use good case:

Some smartphone comes with their mobile case, provided by the company itself, but the quality of most of them are being compromised. So after buying a new smartphone, you might want to consider getting a new & good quality case as well. The mobile cover is important for your smartphone’s physical protection and also its temperature. Buy a case that will allow ventilation as your phone also requires that but ignore those bulky or leather covers. They tend to trap the heat inside restricting the phone to breathe.

3. Charge Properly:

If you want your smartphone to maintain its battery life, ensure to charge it properly. And remember not to use the phone or keep it covered while charging. Also, keep your device on a hard surface instead of a bed or cushion that absorbs heat. Not only this, a duplicate or cheap charger, and USB are also responsible for heating up the phone. Chargers with different wattage heat up the devices to some extent.

4. Turn off unnecessary settings:

It’s no secret that mobile data, high brightness, Bluetooth, GPS take a toll on the battery of your phone, which can lead to overheating. If the battery is being overused it has to offer the device more power to sustain these wireless services. Along with this, Wi-Fi, Google Maps, and other similar apps too tend to use up battery. To avoid this, always remember to turn energy-draining settings off to preserve the energy of your smartphone and avoid overheating.

5. Use an Anti-virus app:

Now, you must be thinking about how an anti-virus app can help to save your smartphone from overheating? Well, these apps keep consuming resources in the background and prevent the device from taking a break. Using an anti-virus app is one of the best ways to protect your device from overheating as well as from data and security breaches. Install good anti-malware software to ensure your phone’s safety. Some of the good anti-virus apps are Norton 360, Avast Antivirus, Lookout security and Antivirus.
