In our recent article, we discussed the specifications of the OnePlus Nord CE 2 5g. But, now the phone is finally released, let’s see the plus points and what new features it brought against Nord CE.

The OnePlus Nord CE 2 has come with a sleek design. The standard design of the OnePlus back panel has now changed in this phone. If we talk about Nord CE (its preceding version), it had a matte finish. But, this phone comes up with a smooth and shiny surface.

The features are much similar to the Oppo Reno 7. Also, it is an upgraded version of OnePlus Nord CE, so the features here, are slightly different.

Design of Nord CE 2

The back panel of the phone is smooth, glossy and slim. The phone is much lighter as well, weighing around 173g. The phone’s body and frame are completely made of Plastic. It has a dedicated SD card slot, that’s a new thing in this OnePlus phone. It is the first smartphone in India with a triple-slot SIM tray, this could be an innovative design. On one side, you can insert two SIM cards, while on the other side, you can insert an SD card.

The design of the phone is so appealing, that you’ll love to hold it in your hand. It is available in two colours that are, Grey and Blue. At the bottom, you’ll be able to see a headphone jack and a USB-C port. It has only one speaker at the bottom, although the sound quality is quite impressive.

If I talk about the camera, this phone has a triple camera setup as its parent phone. In all the OnePlus phones, they have a merged camera module, but here it is changed in OnePlus Nord CE 2. With 64MP of a primary camera, 8MP ultrawide and 2MP camera. Also, it has a 16MP selfie camera. Overall picture quality is good, but phones at this price can provide more improved image quality.

Now, coming on its performance. It is a 5G phone and has a Mediatek Dimensity 900 processor, while its parent phone (OnePlus Nord CE) had a Qualcomm 750 processor. The overall performance of the phone is good. You can experience a smooth touch with extreme graphics in gaming. With the flat AMOLED display, you can experience more vibrant colours. You can enjoy watching Netflix series at FHD quality and gaming with extreme graphics as well, with its stable processor.

Overall review

The phone is launching in 2 varieties; 128GB with 6GB RAM for INR. 23999 and 128GB with 8GB RAM for INR. 24,999. But, the OnePlus Nord CE 2 has no alert slider, which is a minus point. Also, the picture quality is good but not the best at this range. It has all the sensors like GPS, under-display fingerprint, and a few more. And this phone has a decent multimedia experience as well.

The Oxygen 11 OS here left no difference in the OnePlus phones and other phones such as Realme, Mi or Oppo. The thing I like about this phone is, it is free from any bloatware. Like, there’s no waste app, just a clean UI. But, I must say, it’s a nice upgrade. This phone is available to you with 2 years of major Android updates and 3 years of security patches.
