Best phones with Snapdragon 865

Share this note with your friends.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 mobile platform includes the leading 5th generation Qualcomm Artificial Intelligence (AI) Engine. It makes on-device experiences more intuitive, intelligent, and responsive than ever before, including smarter voice assistants with contextual awareness. A few reasons why you should be excited about the Snapdragon 865 is that it upgrades prime and performance cores to the new Cortex-A77-based architecture and promises a 25% performance improvement along with a 25% improvement in power efficiency. Let us explore some reasons why you should go for a smartphone with the Snapdragon 865.

Reasons why the Snapdragon 865 is better

  • Qualcomm claims improvements in memory subsystems. The SD 865 also has support for LPDDR5 RAM, which will make it to flagship phones next year.
  • The Snapdragon 865 also gets Dolby Vision and HGL format support.
  • The new chipset will support up to a 144Hz display refresh rate.
  • SD 865 shows a remarkable improvement in camera capabilities. There’s now support for up to 200MP sensors, 8K230fps, and the time cap on 720@960fps slow-motion recording has been removed (so, it would be easier to shoot slow-motion footage).
  • AI capabilities get a significant bump from 7 TOPs to 15 TOPs.
  • The Adreno 650 GPU sees a 25% improvement in graphics rendering over the Adreno 640. Power efficiency improves by 35%.

Here are the phones with the Snapdragon 865 chipset that have either been launched or are in the pipeline for launch:
