Microsoft’s default and of course the oldest browser is going to retire on June 15, 2022. It has been there for 27 years and now Microsoft has officially announced shutting down Internet Explorer.

The browser came as an add-on with Windows 95 in the year 1995. After that Internet explorer had a downfall and lack of popularity due to the latest browsers at that time. Then, in 2003, the browser’s popularity grew a bit.
In 2013, Microsoft released the last version of Internet Explorer, and after 2016 no upgrades and new features are seen. Today on June 15, 2022, IE will retire.

As in Windows 10 and 11, Microsoft Edge is the default browser. And the company said Microsoft edge is the future search engine. “Not only is Microsoft Edge a faster, more secure and more modern browsing experience than Internet Explorer, but it is also able to address a key concern: compatibility for older, legacy websites and applications,” the company said in a statement.

Since this news came many people reacted on Twitter about the shutting down of IE. Especially, 90’s users have more memories of IE and thus 90’s people are getting nostalgic about seeing IE go.
