The month of June is coming to an end and speculations about new smart phones launching in July 2022 are rife. In the next few weeks, we will see the much-hyped Nothing phone, Xiaomi 12 Ultra, ASUS’s gaming flagship, the ROG Phone 6, and many other premium smart phones that may offer industry-leading 200W fast-charging technology. Here’s our roundup.

OnePlus Nord 2T
With a classy design, performance, and a vibrant primary camera, the OnePlus Nord 2 was our favorite mid-range Android phone. If you’re looking for a more affordable flagship alternative in 2022, there’s good news for you. Its successor is about to arrive this summer and is one of the best phones coming out in July.
Unlike the pre-announced 10 Pro, OnePlus hasn’t officially confirmed the Nord 2T’s specs, look, or release date. But if the previous two generations are anything to go by, we’d expect to see the Nord 2T hit shelves.
Radical upgrades are unlikely: leaks indicate that the Nord 2T will ship with the same 6.43-inch OLED display as its predecessor. Instead, we’d expect minor improvements, including slightly faster silicon and speedier charging. The jury’s out on whether we’ll also see camera enhancements or any design tweaks.
That same rumor also indicates that the OnePlus Nord 2T will stick with the 4500mAh battery capacity of the Nord 2 before it. Given that staying power was one of the few limitations we encountered with the Nord 2, here’s hoping OnePlus will implement some software tweaks to eke it out.
iQOO 10 Pro
iQOO’s 10 Pro may debut in July. However, the company is yet to announce an official release date. It will be one of the first few phones to feature a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC. Furthermore, it is tipped to sport a 2K LTPO screen, a 50MP primary camera, and industry-leading 200W wired fast charging technology.
Nothing phone
One of the most anticipated smart phones of 2022, the Nothing phone will go official on July 12. The brand recently took curtains off the rear panel of the phone, highlighting its unique transparent design with customizable LED lights. The handset will sport a 120Hz OLED display, a Snapdragon 778G+ SoC, and a 4,500mAh battery with 45W wired fast-charging support.
ASUS ROG Phone 6
It is all set to debut its flagship gaming smart phone, ROG Phone 6 on July 5. It is the world’s first gaming-focused hardware with Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC. The handset may also make its India debut soon as the testing in the country has already started. It will feature a 165Hz AMOLED display and get an improved thermal system over its predecessor.
Xiaomi 12 Ultra
It is yet to reveal the launch date for its flagship product, the 12 Ultra, but we expect it to be unveiled sometime in July. The device will be powered by a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor. It will have an improved camera setup thanks to the collaboration with LEICA. It may also offer a 2K, 120Hz OLED screen and a 4,500mAh or bigger battery with 120W fast-charging.
Real Me GT 2 Master Explorer Edition
Another device that may make its way to the market in July 2022 is Realme’s GT 2 Master Explorer Edition. The device will have a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset. It may get up to 12GB of RAM, a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a 50MP triple rear camera setup, and a 5,000mAh battery with 150W fast-charging support. It is one of the best phones coming out in July.
Google Pixel 7
Google’s Pixel 6 saw the search giant return to making genuine flagships after its predecessor’s mid-tier detour. And, following an official teaser at Google I/O 2022, the Pixel 7 looks set to follow suit.
Official specs are still thin on the ground, but Google did give a sneak peek of the seventh-gen Pixel on stage. Promo pics revealed a device evolved from the Pixel 6, with curved glass on the front and a metallic camera bar on the rear, complete with three lenses and edges which meld to the chassis.
We also know that the Pixel 7 will come equipped with a new, next-gen Google Tensor chip. Its performance chops are unknown at this stage, but if its predecessor is anything to go by, the Pixel 7 should offer a top-tier smart phone experience. It is one of the best phones coming out in July.
Due to its release “later this year”, we’d expect to see the Pixel 7 arrive in October, which is when Google’s flagship phones have traditionally broken cover. Pricing remains anyone’s guess, although we’d hope to see it undercut the competition from Apple and Samsung.
Motorola’s recent mobiles have offered high-end specs for mid-range money. Its next handset looks set to take that a step further: early leaks show the Frontier – rumored to be arriving this summer – equipped with a huge camera housing, home to what’s alleged to be a whopping 194MP primary sensor. Those same sources indicate that it’ll be flanked by 50MP ultrawide and 12MP telephoto cameras.
Other specs are no less impressive if the rumors turn out to be true. They point towards a 6.7-inch OLED panel up front. It also has a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus chip inside, as well as 125W fast charging and support for 5G connectivity.
Google Pixel Fold
What about the elusive Pixel Fold? Depending on who you ask, you’ll hear a whole range of answers. Some thought the Pixel 6 would be bendable. Others predicted a separate Pixel Fold device would launch by the end of 2021. Now, the latest information indicates that Google won’t launch the Fold at all – at least, not in its current form.
Does that mean we won’t see a folding Pixel phone in 2022? Not necessarily. More likely, it means that Google has canned its first attempt at a foldable. That would certainly fit with industry intel that claims Google won’t launch a foldable in the first half of 2022.
What will the spec sheet of Google’s foldable have in store? That’s even less certain – although if it follows the mold set by the Pixel 6, you can expect a neat, premium design with a vanilla Android interface optimised for a folding setup.
Nokia 10 PureView
Rumors about a Nokia 9 PureView replacement have been circulating since that device launched at MWC back in 2019. Despite the long wait, there’s still little certainty about if, when, or how the multi-lens mobile might succeed.
Nokia 9.3, 10, X50, X60…various names have been suggested for the elusive device. But one thing unites the soothsayers: the hope that it will set a fresh bar for Nokia. We’d certainly expect a PureView follow-up to pack all kinds of clever camera tech. The new device would also need 5G connectivity to keep pace with its competitors.
Four cameras, massive batteries, powerful processors: rumors about the Nokia 10 PureView abound, but we are unable to find the specific specs. Some sources suggest the silence is due to difficulties sourcing suitable silicon. Whether that’s true is anyone’s guess.
In fact, it’s not clear if the device is actually in the works, let alone how much it might cost. As you can tell, this isn’t one to bet on – but we’re still hoping to see a new Nokia flagship in 2022.
